Glaucoma is a potentially sight threatening disease that does not have symptoms in the early stages. Annual eye examinations that include screening for glaucoma are important and part of the services Eye Surgical & Medical Associates offer to their patients. If glaucoma is detected the doctors can prescribe different treatment options. Treatment options are:

Medications that work by increasing the flow of fluid out of the eye, helping to lower the intraocular pressure (IOP).
In-office laser treatment that can effectively reduce the intraocular pressure (IOP) for most patients. For laser treatment our doctors use Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT). The SLT is a safe and simple in-office treatment.
Surgery may become a treatment option if non-surgical methods fail to lower intraocular pressure (IOP). Our doctors can offer Microinvasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) to treat these kinds of cases.
